In the following paragraph the author tells what he hopes to achieve from this book or rather all that he hopes to achieve from this book. I said to myself, why only this? And then it clicked into place.
[Roughly translated:] And all that I hope from this act (of writing this book) is that people recognize their Rabb, and they recognize His haqq, and they worship Him as is His right to be worshiped, and they obey Allah and His Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wassalam), and they follow His guidance, so that they succeed with His pleasure, and they enter jannah.
The only thing that Shaykh wants to achieve from his struggle of years is only a few things,
- people recognize their Rabb
- they recognize his haqq
- they worship Him as is His right to be worshiped
- they obey Allah and His Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wassalam)
- they follow His guidance
As a consequence of these above five points,
- they succeed with His pleasure
- they enter jannah
These points pretty much sum up what is really required from us. Like, really!
Nowadays there are big debates and glamorous arguments and what-not and all they talk about is? What does Islam say and whether this should be done or not and if this is halal and that is haram and why is that so and blah blah…
Whereas in reality, if only people knew these five things there would be no confusions or doubts about what Islam does want from us. We wouldn’t have to undergo baffling mystery-solving expeditions and extraction of the logic behind commands, rather we’d just know.
If ever there is a person who can’t get the gist of religion, know that he’s missing somewhere in these five things. This is what we need to call people towards. Through our writings, speech, actions etc.
These things are not only simple but will eventually clean out any cobwebs inside our very soul. It’s the ultimate knowledge of Allah and acting upon it that provides a solution to our every problem.
And then one thing leads to the other. When you recognize Allah (and how great He is), you’ll want to know what His right is and that would lead you to worshiping Him as is His right. That worship would be obedience to Allah and His Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wassalam) and then you would be a follower of His guidance in every aspect of your life.
Reward? The very best! What we aim towards. Success, Master’s pleasure and Paradise forever. May Allah make us of those on whom these rewards are bestowed.
