Are you a broad-minded person or a narrow-minded one? Get to know what narrow-mindedness really is and how it is an obstacle to the blessings from Allah.
And many of the people get influenced by strength of the creation, and they do not get influenced by strength of Allah, and this is due to weakness of faith and certainty. So they are deprived of getting benefit from treasures of Allah, and from power of Allah.
Today we’re lost in the things that creation has created. Our eyes fail to see beyond that. This is the real narrow-mindedness we’re suffering from (yeah, staying away from sins is not narrow-mindedness). We see huge skyscrapers and we’re spellbound, we see smartphones and other electronic gadgets and we’re lost in them. Even when we see the creation itself, we can’t go any further. We see a beautiful face and we’re like, ‘wow’. We see someone with a genius brain and we think the world ends there. That’s what we are like.
It’s Muslims too that I’m talking about. We hear of the Companions of the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wassalam) and their struggle and victory and we start marveling. ‘Oh they were great people so they were victorious, we, on the other hand, can never be like them’. No wonder they were great people but what we don’t see is from where did their help come from and what they did to earn it. This is what they did:
And in the battle of Badr in the second year of Hijrah, Allah chose to show His power for the believers, and to teach them how He gives benefit with His power, by means of faith and good deeds.
So Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wassalam) stepped out with his companions despite
- shortage of their numbers and
- abundance of their enemy.
And they met disbelievers of Quraish and their leaders in Badr.
And the few stood in front of the many,
and friends of Ar-Rahman in front of friends of the Satan,
and people of the truth in front of people of the falsehood.
So the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wassalam) appealed to his Lord,
- and presented his situation to Him,
- and situation of his companions,
- and situation of his enemies…
As a consequence of all of the above that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wassalam) and his companions did, this is what Allah blessed them with:
So He accepted his supplication,
and He sent help with angels,
and to defeat the disbelievers, one angel would have been enough like Jibreel who has 600 wings, one wing fills the skyline, that angel who raised the city of Lut’s nation towards the sky then overthrew it back on them, but extreme happiness of Allah was due to
gathering of believers for upholding the Word of Allah,
and helping His religion,
He sent them help with thousand angels, like He said (in the Quran):
[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, “Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another.” (Al-Anfaal 9)
This is what they did due to which Allah bestowed them with a victory that’s golden history. Because He can do it. He has that power. It can happen to us today too. Why not? The Creator is the same, His power is the same. Problem is in us. We need to go further, be influenced by that from which one should be influenced; the greatest Power ever, the Power to do anything. It’s the yaqeen (certainty) that matters. We don’t have that faith. His Power (qudrat) is the same. If we’re not being helped, it is our fault. It is our narrow-mindedness that prevents us from having that firm faith and unwavering certainty that could open the doors of treasures of His power.
We need to trust and believe and be certain of His Power, we need to look higher!
