`Ajeeb!

Bismillah.

Throughout the previous class, and the study sessions after it, the one thing that struck me the most was the realization that I am to blame. It’s `ajeeb, really.

Roughly translated: “..and Allah’s Mercy for us is conditional on mercy for everyone in the Earth. And how can we be a mercy for the worlds when we’ve left the disbelievers, the polytheists and the disobedient deceived and lost in the valleys of infidelity, immorality and corruption?”

Simply put, Allah will show mercy to us only if we show mercy to others. And how can we ever claim that we do show mercy to others when we’re doing the exact opposite by letting the disbelievers and deniers of Allah wander in the valleys of kufr, fisq and fasaad? We don’t help them come out of there. We’ve taken the ladder away from them which could’ve helped them climb up to see that there was more to this world than that small valley of theirs. We, my friend, are at fault.

Further..

Roughly translated: “..and it is `ajeeb (odd/amazing) that we cut short (or leave) the obligatory prayer to save a person’s life from destruction, although it’s imperative. But we leave something that’s greater than this (more astonishing), and that is leaving millions of humans drowning in valleys of infidelity, immorality and disobedience, and they go to the Fire after their death.”

It’s sort of `ajeeb that we can leave our fard (obligatory) prayer in order to save a life from destruction. It does seem a bit weird, no doubt. But it’s the right thing to do. In fact, it’s what a person MUST do in the situation. If a life’s at stake, you must delay your Salah. Save the human life first, and then pray.

But you know what’s even more `ajeeb? That millions of lives are at stake right now, but we can’t get out of our comfort zone in order to save them from destruction. We’re too busy praying tahajjud and keeping voluntary fasts, and doing adhkaar day and night, that we don’t have the time to save MILLIONS of souls from the Fire. We have Peace TV for that, don’t we?
Now I’m not saying praying tahajjud and keeping voluntary fasts etc. is wrong. These are actually quite virtuous deeds. My point is, don’t be selfish. Don’t keep all the good stuff of Hereafter to yourself. Help others have a share. You owe it to them!

Later on in the chapter, the author says:

ومن المؤسف حقاً أننا نقف ضد مرتكب الجريمة في شأن المخلوق، ولا نقف ضد مرتكب جريمة الكفر والشرك في شأن أحكم الحاكمين، فهلا ندعوه إلى الله، ونعلمه الدين، ليرضى عنه رب العالمين، ويكرمه بالجنة دار المتقين.

Roughly translated: “..It is very unfortunate that we stand against the perpetrator of the crime against creatures (or creation), but we do not stand against the perpetrator of the crime of infidelity and polytheism against the Ahkam-ul-Hakimeen (Best of judges). Why don’t we call him (latter perpetrator) to Allah, and we teach him religion (Deen), so the Lord of the Worlds may be pleased with him, and honor him with Paradise – the abode for the muttaqeen (God-conscious).”

What saddens the author (and me) is, that we’ll always stand against violation of human rights and animal rights and this rights and that rights, but we don’t stand against those who violate rights of Allah by denying Him or associating partners with Him. Why?! Isn’t the latter much greater in intensity than the former, considering whom the crime is being committed against?

Why don’t we call this criminal towards Allah? Why don’t we teach him the Deen? The author says it like it’s the only solution – and it is, SubhanAllah! These two things can change someone’s life forever. A person destined to Hell might end up gaining Allah’s Pleasure and spending eternity in Jannah – the abode for the God-fearing people. And YOU might be the reason for it. How cool would that be? :D

One word: Da`wah. It is your service to humanity.

P.S. We think that the disbelievers and the polytheists are such sinners, and they’ll go straight to Hell unlike us etc. Note that the author talks about mushrikeen and kuffar like they’re being wronged by Muslims. That they wouldn’t be in this state if Muslims were doing their job properly. Muslims are, in fact, to blame.

I’m to blame. `Ajeeb!

P.P.S. couldn’t find an English parallel for the word `ajeeb, so I let it be.

Only 3 Things (u)

The ONLY Cure!

Assalamu’alaikum,
Bismillah.

I want to share some really beautiful lines. Their beauty lies in their truthfulness.

Rough translation: “Indeed all the problems of the people of this world go back to the disobedience of Allah and His Prophet s.a.w. And for the solution of all these problems, it is incumbent upon us to establish the Quran and Sunnah as the final order (hakam). And take the cure from both of them.”

Every single problem that the world is facing today is because of the disobedience of Allah and His Prophet s.a.w. Analyze any problem and you will know it is true.

For example, today nations are fighting over water. Why? Because water is lessening in the world. Why? Because people used it in excess. Why? Because they disobeyed the verse: “Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful.” [Al-Isra 27]

Similarly, today we are crying because of terrorism. One bomb blast and millions die. Why? Because the terrorists are being supported somewhere. Why? Because they are disobeying: “…whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” [Al-Ma’ida 32]

This is on a community level, take it on the individual level as well.

For example, today the divorce rate has increased so much. Why? Because the man does not like something about his wife and so he gets rid of her. Why? Because he disobeys: “O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them – perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.” [An-Nisa 19]

Similarly, today discord and hatred is spreading like wild fire. People turn their faces away from others. Why? Because they disobey: “Abu Huraira r.a. narrated: Allah’s Messenger s.a.w said, “You will not enter Paradise until you believe; and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not guide you to a thing which if you do, you will love one another: spread (the greeting of peace) Salaam amongst yourselves.” [Muslim, Kitab-ul-Eman:194]

On a side note, what if the person who is disobeying the orders of Allah and His Prophet s.a.w does not even know these orders exist? Whose fault it would be? Who is supposed to tell them? YOU! And why did you not tell them? Because you disobeyed: “You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.” [Al-i-Imran 110]

Take any example in the world and you will be able to break it down back to the disobedience of Allah and His Prophet s.a.w. It’s a CHALLENGE! Oh yeah!

Share more examples in the comments section below…

So what is the solution? Establishing Quran and Sunnah as the final order, final verdict (hakam). The cure lies in these two, indeed.

Allah says in the Quran, ” And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger – He will admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow; but whoever turns away – He will punish him with a painful punishment.” [Al-Fath 17]

So save yourselves (and others) from that painful punishment!

The Missing Part!

Assalamu’alaikum,
Bismillah.

Here’s what we’re actually missing:

والله عزَّ وجلَّ أعطانا الاستعداد الكامل للقيام بالدعوة والعبادة، وأكثر المسلمين اليوم ترك الدعوة إلى الله، لأنه صار قانعاً بالعمل الصالح، فالعابد ميدانه نفسه.. والداعي ميدانه كل الناس.. وكلاهما على خير.. لكن القطرة لا تقارن بالبحر، وكلاهما لازم.

فالعبادة واجب الأمة، والدعوة وظيفة الأمة.

Rough translation: “And Allah S.W.T has given full strength for the establishment of da’wah (calling towards Allah) and ‘ibadah (worship). And majority of the Muslims today have left calling towards Allah (da’wah illa Allah). Because they have become content on their good deeds. So, the field of action of a worshipper is his own nafs (self) and the field of action of a da’ee (caller towards Allah) is the whole mankind. And both of them – da’ee and worshiper – are in khair (good). But a drop cannot reach the sea (in status). And both of them are compulsory. So worship is an obligation of this ummah and da’wah is the job of this ummah.”

Allah has given us full strength for the establishment of both worship and da’wah. Did you know that? We usually think we are capable of doing only one of these things. But in spite of that much strength, today most of the Muslims have left da’wah. Isn’t that sad? The energy they are given for da’wah goes all wasted.

And why have they left da’wah? Because they think their personal good deeds are enough for them. They are so content over them that they do not think any further. And they forget that their field of action is extremely narrow and limited, only confined to their own selves. It’s like a drop only.

While the da’ee’s field of action is broad and includes the whole of mankind. It’s like the sea.

Yes, both of them are in good but the good in each of these things has no comparison. It’s as absurd as comparing a drop with the whole sea.

And it’s just not about the incomparable good in each of them. But they both, are compulsory too. How? Such that worship is an obligation but calling towards Allah (da’wah) is the job assigned to this ummah.

We just can’t ignore our duty, can we?
